Paul Bedard is Florida’s only bare-handed alligator trapper. Meaning, unlike other trappers, Paul doesn’t use guns, spears or hooks to capture nuisance alligators. Paul uses his bare hands.
Whether it’s an alligator trapped in someone’s swimming pool, or roaming a suburban neighborhood menacing children and pets, or lurking in a public waterway threatening unsuspecting swimmers, Paul and the Gator Boys will catch the alligator in the most animal-sensitive way possible—with their bare hands.
And once they capture the alligator, they relocate it to a nature preserve where it can live out its years in safety.
The work is dangerous. Paul is fearless. His reward is a personal bond with one of nature’s most deadly predators.
