NEW YORK POST- The rural South is the hottest thing in TV right now, and it’s not Northerners gawking that account for the staggering ratings — it’s Southerners. “Gator Boys” features Southerners with big personalities, heavy accents and a close-knit family or business.
NEW YORK: The second season of Gator Boys, about two men who catch alligators with their bare hands, is slated to premiere on Animal Planet early next year.
TV GUIDE– Wisteria Lane may be gone, but Desperate Housewives narrator Brenda Strong is heading back to the recording booth. Strong has signed on to narrate Investigation Discovery’s new true crimes TV show, Blood Relatives.
FORBES– As a little boy, I used to have nightmares about this kind of thing. If you’ve ever watched the Gator Boys on the Discovery Channel, you’ve learned a couple of things from Paul Bedard and Jimmy Riffle about what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur. These two small businessmen regularly risk life and limb to capture and remove live alligators from backyards, swimming pools, garages and bedrooms all around the Florida Everglades.

THE NEW YORK TIMES– The series, which begins Wednesday night with two episodes, examines odd but authentic cases of brain disorders. Many of these disorders aren’t commonplace, so when they’re introduced you’ll probably spend a disquieting chunk of time imagining what it would be like to live under such circumstances.

SUN SENTINIAL– Fans of the Animal Planet reality show “Gator Boys” are in a frenzy, worried the gator wranglers will be kicked out of a Broward County park. The show features a gator-capturing duo who save the day in backyard canals and swimming pools, trapping nuisance alligators by hand. And home base for the “Gator Boys” is in Broward County, about as far west as you can drive on Griffin Road, at Everglades Holiday Park. The picturesque, rustic park in western Broward was taken over by the county in June, and the TV show’s footage has been a public relations boon for the park, where the show’s stars wrestle alligators for visitors.
THE HUFFINGTON POST– The “Gator Boys” (Sun., 9 p.m. ET on Animal Planet) were called in to deal with an alligator that had invaded one family’s swimming hole, but the beast proved to be more than they were comfortable handling on their own. So they called in backup.
TV BY THE NUMBERS– The fascinating new mystery series BROKEN MINDS, hosted by Dr. Reef Karim, premieres with back-to-back episodes Wednesday, June 6 at 9 pm ET/PT. He had been suffering from strange lumps on his body and was coughing up blood. His lungs were filling with blood, and he was in danger of losing his life. Doctors were initially stumped as to what could be causing his symptoms.
WLOX13– It’s one of the hottest shows on cable TV. Every Sunday night on Animal Planet, professional alligator trappers Paul Batard and Jimmy Riffle trap nuisance alligators on the show “Gator Boys.”
Gulf Live– The Gulf Coast Gator Ranch in the swamps of east Moss Point has a new attraction over the next two weekends. The “Gator Boys” from the Animal Planet reality show are doing alligator wrestling demonstrations three times a day on Saturday and Sunday through July 8, said Curtis Silver, co-owner of the ranch.
